I just dumped, scrubbed & refilled our pop up pool after it went green while on vacation. I used no cleaners when I dumped the pool, only clear water and a shop vac :) I added 4 oz algeacide, and 1 lb shock. (I am now wondering if that was way too much given the size of our pool.)
