How long and when to run pump

I currently only have the skimmer as a water pickup point. (i.e., no main drain. The drain line developed a leak and we plugged it and I have never bothered finding the leak. For all practical purposes, we seem to be able to operate ok with it.) In that regard, pool builder guy said we need to...

What does "aerate to increase pH"

I recently replaced about 40% of my water and new results show my TA is 100. According to PoolMath, I need to lower my TA by decreasing pH 7.0-7.2 with acid, and then aerate to increase pH. How do I "aerate"? Thanks

Does liquid chlorine have a half life

Greetings, I was in a local pool chem shop looking for test kits, and that turned into a conversation with Manager/owner(?). As a part of that conversation, he said that liquid chlorine has a half life of 3 weeks. i.e., every three weeks the chlorine because half as weak. So after 6 weeks, your...

question re: measuring FC level when fighting black algae

Hello, We had an outbreak of black algae due to lack of chlorine and have joined TFP for guidance. We need to raise our FC level to somewhere between the high and SLAM level according to the guidance. In pursuing this course of action, I realized we need a better test kit. However when...
