Looking to upgrade to a safety cover for this winter.

My choices are mesh or solid. What is the best choice for Michigan winters for an 18x36 in-ground vinyl?

Excuse me if this topic has been covered already (no pun!)

Thanks

I now live in a climate where I never have to close the pool. But, when I did have to (in MA), I much prefered the fine mesh type LoopLok safety cover. It keeps all the leaves and debris out, and no pumps, snow and ice problems. Come spring I would just pull it off,top up the water, vacuum the fine debris that had sifted through out of the bottom of the pool, start up the pump and filter, add chemicals and it was usually back to a sparkling pool in about two days. Just be sure you don't wait too long in the spring before reopening the pool. And it works great!
