I have a gunnite pool that is in need of repainting this winter. Does anyone have suggestions on the best paint (type and brand) to use?
Thanks.

Yeah, I've got a tip: Sau-Sea paint. Check out their web site at http://www.sausea.com/ I used their paint and had no problems. My prep work wasn't the best in the world, either. It was a DIY job and a lot cheaper, quicker, and easier than a re-plaster job. But stick around TFP for a few days. I bet you'll get quite a few tips bacause there are lots of folks with some very strong opinions on the pros and cons of painting. Go to school on those tips and make an informed decision. Good luck!

Paint is almost never worth using below the water line. Even the best paints don't last that long, so that by the time you have re-painted several times you would have saved money and had far less hassle by getting plaster instead.

I thought that paint protects the plaster? I assume that replastering is not a DIY job? Does the plaster come tinted? Thanks.

You can get all different types of colored plaster. Here's just one link I found: http://www.atglabs.net/ourcolors.html
