My Raypack RP2100 pool heater doesn't turn on.

The error is Fireman Switch open.
There's no part called a fireman switch in the exploded diagram.

What's/Where's a fireman switch?

There is definitely propane gas in the line (the BBQ further down works fine).
I don't see any place to light it up.

Any suggestions?

The fireman switch is external to the heater, usually used by a timer or an automation system to control the heater remotely.

Look inside your timer box. That is the usual place to put them.

I recently looked at a burned up heater at a customers house and found out he tried to trouble shoot it. He said he's not sure what he did but the unit caught fire. The unit is now toast and is being replaced. I'm only providing you with help but in many cases you need to hire someone. I realize people are all about saving money but lives are priceless!

Thanks guys for the help. If it's external to the heater, that's probably why I can't find it on the heater (there's a thermal fuse but that's it).

So, I'm still looking for the fireman switch.

I'll snap pictures in the morning.

Does anyone have a picture of what the fireman switch looks like?

On my intermatic timer its installed behind the yellow clock wheel. The off peg trips the fireman switch off about 20 minutes prior to the pump being shut off.

Follow the low voltage control wire coming off the heater and see where it goes. While you are doing that, check the wire for cuts.

That is a great idea! I see a single white wire tie wrapped to the outside of the electrical conduit. Following that wire, it goes eventually into the control panel for the pool. From there I'm not sure since it's in the back of the panel.

I'll see if I can snap some pictures as there are other things I don't recognize around that wire so it may be a different wire.

Thanks for the kind help - I know you don't have to help any of us ... and I double appreciate it that you do. It's my job to get you some more information which I'll try to do soon (I'm at work right now so can't do it).

Are you trying to turn on the heater at the heater? Or are you doing it from the compool in the house, and came out to the heater when you weren't getting any heat?

Why is it called a fireman switch?

Obviously not a switch for the fireman, if it's not easily found, like in an elevator.
