Yea!!! New Pool Build --- DFW Area **** Updated 5/15

Re: Yea!!! New Pool Build --- DFW Area **** Updated 2/16

Actually - After speaking with the Superintendent of the job early this morning. He said that there is plenty enough room for the rocks. The stone guys told me they didn't think it was going to be enough room in the spill over. They are rocking the back of the pool and spill over and it looks great. "False Alarm". :whoot:

Thanks for the advice though!

I've been very please with Hobert so far.

I looked at your pdf. If you can, I would skip the ozone...it is not needed in a normal use residential outdoor pool. Also, what size cartridge filter is it? We would recommend at least a 230 sq. ft (bigger is better).

Ozone --- We have been told it reduce the shocking of the pool. I'm probably getting bad info. Is it to late to switch to salt in this pool build? I'm ignorant at this

The filter is 520sq

Yep, bad info. A properly chlorinated pool should never need "shocking". Spend some time in pool school....take a look at this article: http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/types_chlorine_pool and: http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/basic_pool_care_schedule

I wouldn't think so unless you have soft stone work.

The filter is 520sq

If you do go swg, you may want to eliminate the puck feeder as well. We generally do not recommend using a puck feeder, usually only during vacations, and then very carefully. Since you are thinking of going swg, that can take care of the vacations.

Looks great! I was doing chlorine and ozone too and am now second guessing and considering salt.

You should be able to change. But, you have alot of rock and that may be an issue, someone here I am sure can help you with that. I only will have flagstone coping so we can easily seal that.

Cant wait to see finished product. Love your yard! I am jealous, wish mine was that large!

Thanks, KIM

Looks great! That spillover is what we are planning as well. Prob stack rock around spa though, but I like what you did too? What kind of stone is that around and on top? We are going with SWG, so want to make sure we put the right stone down everywhere..

Re: Yea!!! New Pool Build --- DFW Area **** Updated 2/18

Thanks Thejetsunss - (update) We decided to stay with Ozone and Tri-Chlor. The PB wanted to charge us a ton to change it out. (Like $1300 for the SWG + plus $89 Plus Labor). We have been told by our project superintendent's boss --- His name is "Duke Loper" he wasn't even going to give us any credit for the existing ozonator on inline chlorinator. I think that speaks for itself. I am wondering if I should make a big deal about this or not. I typically choose my battles. The Pool Sales guy "Victor Mueller" told us we could always change it out if we changed our minds. He didn't mention the fact they would double dip on us if we decided to do it during the build. It is somewhat my fault for not researching the sanitation and not just going by what the PB's say. :hammer:

To answer your questions about masonry --- My stone is flagstone and my rocks are moss coping.

Texgirl - My Tile is Blue Nile.

imarodee - Thanks for the feedback!

More pictures today as decking project has commenced. Stay tuned!

Re: Yea!!! New Pool Build --- DFW Area **** Updated 2/18

Thanks... do you remember what brand? I have 3 books, noble, master tile and npt. Thanks again, KIM

Update- I think I found it in the noble book named nile blue! I am pretty sure thats it... really like it.. trying to decide to go with a blue and just natural to match flagstone........ bid decisions.

What color finish are you doing? We are doing a qtz finish and the color we choose may determine tile decision.....

Thanks again, KIM

Re: Yea!!! New Pool Build --- DFW Area **** Updated 2/18

Texgirl- we went with stone scrapes smooth pebble - color is St Croix. We went with it out fear that many of the other colors of pebble make the water too dark. We want to see what's in the pool before we jump in.

I think that blue tile will look great with your darker decking. Classssy! :goodjob:
