My Ultratemp heater has been bugging me lately.
I noticed it has no problem getting up to the set temp. Once it gets there, the fan is constantly turning on and off.
I have the Intellicenter and on the old app I used to be able to set the temp differential. But on the updated app I don't see the option.
Of course I am out of warranty. But I called Pentair and they said it could be the ignition control module. I don't see that part on the replacement parts list from Pentair. I think they might have been looking at a gas heater.
Anyone have this issue? In the past I have had to have the refrigerant filled. That gave me an alarm but since then there are no alarms or notifications on the app.

Thanks

Jay

The UltraTemp does not have an Ignition Control Module. Pentair support continues to deteriorate.

The fan turning ON and OFF can be normal HP cycling.

If it is heating and cooling properly it is probably fine. Or you can have an HVAC tech check the refrigerant pressures and compressor and fan amperage.

Yeah I was confused when I was looking through the parts list and didn't see that part. As for Pentair, well I'll say that I insisted on all pentair products for my pool. So far I have had 2 salt cells replaced (under warranty luckily), heat pump lost refigerant twice, first time was under warranty. I have a warrior pool robot that crapped out after 3 years. One intellivalve that went out. Now a microbrite bulb that wont sync in color with the others.
Starting to question if I made the right choice. Phone support is a joke.
I'll reach out to a friend who is an AC tech and see when he can look at it. I usually try to shut off the heater when it gets up to temp. But i have to remember to go on the app to do it.
