Water in Firebowl

Hey all,

One of our fire bowls stopped working. Pool is about 2 years old. My pool cleaner inspected and found that the bowl had trapped water and had soaked the wires in water.

This looks like it has fried the ignitor. My pool builder said it's out of the one year warranty, and its 24v so no need to panic, but he has no idea how to help and doesn't seem to care. To me this is an installation issue and he doesn't want to cover the ignitors.

Who should I contact to fix this? I don't even know why the one bowl filled with water but the other did not. Is there a way to tell if one was not properly installed?

On a similar note, I've had the same issue with the grill he installed for us in the outdoor kitchen. The grill light wires keep shorting when it rains, and I've had it replaced once already. He also says this is not his fault, although clearly it is since it keeps happening when it rains.

Also, I noticed the main high voltage light in the pool isn't sealed to the pool wall so I know that the wires that are behind the light are surrounded by water. This obviously concerns me given the high voltage, but the builder told me that's normal when I first noticed. Now I'm worried that could also be an issue.

Would it be normal to hire an electrician to do an analysis on the pool, or do I need to hire another pool company? I am in Austin, TX. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Can you show a wider shot of the bowls and where they are on the pool? It’s hard to diagnose from those pics.

Regular pools lights have flooded niches. The light house is attached to the plastic niche. It’s not meant to be sealed up water tight. Only the light housing the holds the bulb and has the wiring going into it is waterproof/watertight.
