Three way valve cracked and leaking

So for every winter I make sure to disconnect all my unions and get as much water out of my lines as I can. I have an above ground pool with hard 1 1/2 PVC plumbing.

I hooked up all my unions this morning and while filling I noticed 2 leaks. One (1) union is leaking because the o-ring is gone (how does it get out and go missing lol). Anyways, does anyone know what size of o-ring to get?

The other leak is coming out of a three (3) way valve. It's actually cracked along the entire outer valve area, through the threads and all. Even with the valve closed on this side it still leaks out of the top area of the crack.

Can this valve crack be fixed or should it just be replaced? I can't remember where I got these from, the valve input/outputs are all threaded and NOT slip and the majority I see are all slip now.

Also, even though the plumbing is open and the majority of water out I seem to have issues after every winter. Does constant freeze cycles brittle PVC? I have had it crack when buried and also tried laying on top of the ground and some spots still cracked.

You cant fix a cracked valve housing. Sounds like you didnt get all the water out. Try a cyclone blower

Those o-rings have legs and will run away if you don't watch out.......they're slippery lil' fellas!

I would take the fixture with me to fit the new o-ring correctly. FWIW, most o-rings cracks are due to over tightening.

Where did you get a clear plastic valve?

That is very unusual.

In any case, the valve cannot be fixed and should be replaced.
