Hello!

We moved into a new house recently and had the pool resurfaced with Pebbletech. Decided to install a SWG after reading about lots of positive experiences and now hoping to lean a bit on this community for assistance with the installation.

The pool is 20k gallons that is currently balanced and about 25 days post construction (been brushing daily). The SWG unit is a Circupool RJ60+. As you can see from the pictures, the plumbing returns are split and controlled with a Jandy valve. Currently water is flowing through the return that leads to 3 jets spaced out around the pool. The valve is closing the return that leads to a dedicated jet in the middle of the pool. That space (circled in red) seems to me like the obvious place to install the cell, but what do you all think? Would it be worth the hassle of re-plumbing that area in order to place the cell prior to the 3-jet return in order to get the best chlorine circulation?

I hope I described that correctly, please let me know if anything needs to be clarified (first time posting). Thanks for all the help!!

el,

I would want the SWCG to feed the three returns in the sidewall of the pool. Does not make sense to me to put the SWCG on a water feature that you often have shut off.. If you set the Jandy valve so that some water goes to the pool and some to the water feature, you will have to run the pump twice as fast as you are splitting the water flow.

Your only valid option is to replumb the pad.

I am a huge SWCG guy, so you know what my answer is already..

Thanks,

Jim R.

You should be able to fit a vertical installation kit on the section of pipe coming off the filter. You'd have to remove the t-fitting with the hose bib attached. The existing filter union may accept a 2 1/2 in. fitting that you can reduce back to 2 in. with a reducer fitting. It looks like a tight fit, so you might need to replace the coupler/union.
