Good afternoon pool aficionados. We bought a pool pump last summer to replace one we have with a 2HP pump. now to think of it, may be too much. we have a 24' round pool. Well... to make a long story short, it appears as if the sand filter had had a prior repair near the top and it had a pin-hole crack that grew slightly large until I epoxy 'ed. it .. This lasted almost though the rest of the season then blew out. I have since purchased a new sand filter that I have not installed yet. I am thinking that I may have to buy a new pump and filter combo (1-1/2 HP and a 19" sand filter.) , however just saying if I were to keep the 2hp pump I have now and install the 20" filter that I have already bought. Would that be overkill?
