I got a hold of a new Hayward actuator and I’m trying to find out if I can install it on a Hayward dial-a-Flo valve. It looks like the actuator only works with a handy style valve but I am seeing if anyone knows for certain.

Can you remove the handle and show the valve without the handle?

You might be able to mount it on the Dial-A-Flo if the screws line up and if the actuator female socket accepts the diverter stem.

You might be able to replace the diverter if it will fit.

I wish Hayward posted the dimensions for the valve key because they look nearly identical except for where the handle attaches to the assembly. That way I wouldn’t have to spend money to see if they match up and maybe I could drill out the top of the valve cover to get the new key assembly in.

I’ll try and order the upper valve assembly parts and see what I can do.

If the valve body is the same, you should be able to pull out the Dial-A-Flo parts and install the parts from the new valve.

The new valves have two sizes, so make sure to get the same size based on the pipe size.

I think that Dial-A-Flo only came in a 1.5" x 2" size.
