I just opened up the pool a few days ago but didn’t get my new Taylor 2006 test kit until yesterday. Normally I follow TFP’s closing methods for chemicals, but had the pool closed last year by a new company and I didn’t realize until I got the invoice they had added chemicals (no clue what they added). Tests yesterday showed low ph and alkalinity as well as 0 chlorine. Water is cloudy, can’t see bottom. I had liquid chlorine available, so I increased to SLAM levels. Picking up more chlorine today and some Borax. My question is should I add Borax now or wait until SLAM is complete? When I just tested, pH was at 7.2 but that’s probably not accurate with a FC of 15. Original pH yesterday was (estimated based on color) 6.4 ish?
