Spa water slowly drained to pool halfway when pump stops

For some reason my spa water now is halfway after the schedule pump ran. It takes about 30 or 40 for the water to lowered but it stops right at all the water returned line I think. The only way to fill it back up is run the pump for all but if I run for spa only, the water remains low & it just pump water which I guess it return from the spa.1000002581.jpg

s,

Most of the time the problem is with a leaking check valve in the spa line.. I think I can see it in the back of your pic, on the far side of your automated Return valve.

Thanks,

Sorry for my ignorant but I don't fully understand these lines. I've noticed that 2 (return) & 5(suction) are automatically turned based on either pool filter is set (current pic) or Spa. 4 is just water spray. from the pic below, which valve (#) should I check & replace? I saw a youtube video explaining the possible cause:

Here's my understanding the flow:
Water is coming out from my heater through the SWG, currently the #2 & #5 is closed because it is currently configured as pool filter. So my understanding, either #1 or #2 is leaked as the water coming from the spa is leaked back because of these 2 valves?
is it either #1 or 2. most likely would the leak coming from suction or return valve?

Sang,

Check valve #1 is the most likely one to be bad..

Either dirty or bad.. I'd replace the guts and see what happens.

Thanks,

Jim R.

That's what I thought too. Should I replace the whole thing or just a flap? Not sure if they even sell just the flap.

Found something on Amazon and I think it'll fit.

Sang,

Glad you got it fixed.. :goodjob:

Hard to tell in the pic what check valve #3 does.. Any ideas?

Does it send water to the spa when in the pool mode.. If so, then #3 being bad, make perfect sense..

Thanks,

Jim R.
