Issues with SWG. Hayward TCELL940

The amperage is a little bit too high.

Do you have a heater?

If yes, the amperage will probably hit 8.0 when you turn the heater on and that will cause a High Salt Error and shutdown.

Keep the current below 8.0 amps.

If/when the cell does start to fail and if you would like to get a bit more life out of the cell before replacing it, you can try this:

So far, I have delayed replacing my cell by over 9 months and have several months to go before I may actually need to replace the cell. But this only works for controller that allow for other cell types (e.g. T-5, T-9).

You can also take the cell to an authorized Hayward Distributor to have the cell tested.

Call around local pool store do have testers to check cell life. After that long most cells need to be replaced.
Most of our customers get 4-5 years out of a cell.

Normally, the cell begins to perform at a lower and lower level rather than just fail completely.

It seems like either a bad cell or maybe a board issue.

You can pull the board and check for any signs of damage.

You can check for voltage at the pins when the cell is turned on.

If I do this the voltage measurement registers so briefly that I cant even read the value. Then it shows as open / no V.
