Any experience with the AccuBlu or LaMotte Spintouch test setups?

I am a chemist and have been able to get my hands on one of these if I wanted. I know a lot of pool stores use one of these 2 or something similar, while I don't trust pool stores themselves the tech seems to make sense. It would seem to be a spectrometer that reads in the visible light range to report values. Since spectrometers have been around for decades I don't see why these wouldn't work here for our pool chemistry. Any luck getting good results from them?

Any experience with either of these systems would be much appreciated.

25,000g pool with inline chlorinator (tabs) mostly use liquid chlorine, in NJ.

Here is Leslie's tolerances on their AccuBlue / spin touch. For all the tests when in range, 25% low would have you thinking about raising X, and 25% high would have you thinking about lowering X.

Examples :

FC 8 would range from 6 to 10.
Salt at 3500 would range from 2625 to 4375
CH at 350 would range from 262 to 437
TA at 80 would range from 60 to 100.
CYA at 50 would range from 37.5 to 62.5
PH at 7.5 would at least still be a 7, but possibly on the outskirts.

Copper and iron at the accepted .3 threshold for staining range +/- .3. So 0 to .6 is in question. For anyone wondering on the fence, it doesn't tell them anything. With levels above .6, they likely have irrefutable proof with staining already.

We don't know if the above accounts for the calibration being a little off, or if it gets even worse than they claim. At best, it's still not good.
