Pump humming very loud and sounds like it is not rotating? Buzzed for 10 seconds, heard a click in the timer and now it will not buzz or come on

Hi,

I have a pump connected to a timer. My wife turned off the pool sometime today and I came home and tried to turn it on. When I did it just buzzed really loud. When I showed it to her she said it was not making that noise. I could tell it was not rotating. It bussed for 10 seconds and then a click in the timer and it stopped buzzing. I flipped all my breakers but now i get nothing.

Is ther a fuze in my timer? I researced it and the manual does not indicate one.

Hot Tub/Pool run by Sta-Rite Dura Glas Single Speed 1.5hp P2RA5F-182L pump with Emerson K63CXESE4972 motor.

Thank you, read it, pulled it, multimeter shows nothing at all. I may be doing that wrong but I watched a few videos, read the multimeter manual etc.

Leslies has one.

What explains the "click" i heard in the timer? I get absolutly nothing when I turn it on before I pulled the capacitor...

You check with your multimeter that you have voltage at L1 and L2 at the pump electrical connections?

Pickup some liquid chlorine. If you cannot get your pump running pour 5ppm of liquid chlorine in your pool daily and stir it in with your pool brush. That should keep algae out until you get the pump running.

Yes I have a lot of that. I have only been off for about 24 hours and just finished the SLAM... I should be good there.. I will probably figure this out in the next few min, but how do you tell positive from negative on these things? its been a few min and there are no markings on it.

I found this link and polarity does not matter...

Its fixed, thanks again
