You should run your pump for a reason. Chemicals keep your pool sanitized and clear, not the number of times water passes through the filter.

If you have a salt cell, then number one reason to run the pump is to generate the amount of chlorine your pool needs.

The number two reason to run the pump is to skim your pool water the way you want.

If your pump has to run at 2500 RPM for you heater to work, then you will need to run at that speed for as long as it takes to heat your pool.

I run my pump 24/7 at about 1700 RPM most of the time, because I love to make a little chlorine all the time and I love to skim my pool all the time. 1700 RPM makes my SWG happy and my IntelliCenter ramps the pump up to 2400 RPM for my heater or cleaner.

Just changing the motor does not change the horsepower of the wet end. Which pump? Put a 10hp motor on a 1hp wet end and you have a 1hp pump with a motor that will not work well.

No salt - pool guy does the chemicals weekly.
 
You need to experiment what what RPMs let your skimmer effectively work. The slower the better for your electrical bill. Start with 1200 RPM and move up from there.

Your pump is a 3/4hp Super Pump, regardless of the new motor, unless you changed the impeller. It will have to run at higher rpms to get the flow you want to make your equipment, like a heater or SWG, work.
Your old motor turned a constant 3450 RPM. That is the max for the new motor so it can't move any more water than the old.

Should I replace the impeller? If so with what?

I’m also curious to learn more, wouldn’t this pump be pulling harder at a lower rpm due to higher HP? I don’t know much about pumps but RPMs shouldn’t be the only factor here?
