I replaced my pool pump in 6/2019 with this model here: Amazon.com
In 4/2023 I had to replace a shaft seal due to an internal leak. Fast forward to now (3/24) and the pump is not turning on. It makes a humming sound for 5 seconds or so then nothing. The impeller spins freely and I replaced the capacitor but neither worked to get it going. I confirmed voltage at the motor.
Any ideas of what to try next before buying a new pump or motor? And in that regard, can I buy a variable speed motor just to replace it? Or do I need a whole new unit for VS? Local store guy said they pay for themselves pretty darn quick.
I also have concerns that the pump may not be big enough. The old one has .75hp so I replaced it with a .75hp but my pool is ~19,000 gallons.
