For 15,000 Gallons with infloor pop-ups, can I replace a 2012 intelliFlo VS with a WhisperFlow VST?

Hello everyone,
For 15,000Gallons with infloor pop-ups, can I replace a 2012 intelliFlo VS with a WhisperFlow VST?
I am old school and like to have a simple control panel (available on the whisperFlow VST) as oppossed to a controlling everything on an App.
How do I ensure that the 2.5HP on the whisperFlow VST will be good enough?

They are, essentially, the same pump. The Whisperflo VST has the same, or very similar, motor and control as the Superflo pumps, but the wet-end is the same as the IntelliFlo.
However, your 2012 pump usually had a listed total horsepower of 3.9, so you may have to run the VST at a higher rpm than in the past to get the IFCS to work.
I have successfully installed Hayward VSP pumps with a THP of 2.7 on those systems. When single-speed pumps were the fashion, in my area builders usually installed a pump with 2.25 THP (1.5 listed horsepower with a 1.5 service factor) on pools with that type of cleaner.
