Pump Noise :: Bearing?

Darn you entropy!!
Pump just started making this screeching noise. I just installed the motor *checks notes* 14 years ago. I installed the motor myself to replace the original one with a 2 speed.
Do we think bearings are shot or something stuck in the fan or worse?
Noise fades in and out; gets worse for a bit and then quiets down for a bit.

Probably bearings.

Probably time for a variable speed pump.

Yea...I was thinking that.
What is the recommended VS pump these days? Is there a drop-in replacement for the max-e-glas with same port sizes in the same locations?
