Dolphin Robot - Power Supply Crazy Hot?!

I've had my Dolphin Active 20 (Maytronics) for less than a year now and it has been working very well...until recently.

The power supply would just start blinking and then reset itself and eventually turn off. I checked that the robot impeller was not blocked, etc. During my testing the power supply felt really hot to me, and the buttons were bulging up and out. I pulled out a thermometer and the temps on one of the spots was 132°F.

I called up Maytronics and they sent out a new power supply based on what I explained. I tested the new one the other day and it seems to have run the full 2-hour cleaning. Today I ran it again and after an hour or so I decided to check the temp (was curious) and noticed this one running event hotter at 137°F.

Anyone else have a similar issue before?
Or anyone willing to check temp of your PS?

Perhaps this is within range of operating temperature?! Seems WAY too hot to me. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Does your power supply sit in the sun? Does it sit where sun reflects on it from somewhere? Have you altered any electrical outlets that the device is plugged in to?

Did you tell Maytronics about it? What did they say?

It gets no sun at all. I have it set up inside of my covered patio. Nothing special about the electrical outlets. There's one outlet on my patio and it's GFCI.

I could try plugging it into another receptacle that is inside of the house and see how that goes. Another thought is I could bring it over to my pops place and see if it performs any different there.

The first time I contacted them they just went ahead and sent out a power supply based on what I said and didn't really have anything else to say. I plan on contacting them again and we'll see if I can get their thoughts. Maybe this is their normal operating temperature but again seems quite high to me.

Update. I ran the cord inside my house last night and checked it after about an hour, temps were up over 130.

This was with the power supply sitting inside of my house with my AC sent to about 75...

I'll be reaching out to Maytronics, but would love to hear if anyone else reaches these temps.

Check the impeller and see if there are no leaves, etc. wrapped around it making it difficult to spin. check if the impeller spins freely when rotated by hand. some resistance is normal but too much drag or binding means the motor seals and/or shaft has worn out. unable to turn means motor or gear system has frozen.

I know I'm super late to this thread, but I'm having the same issue with my Active20 power supply, down to the bulging buttons. The buttons now do not really work. I can click the power button, but when I press on any of the other buttons (extra cycle, etc.), I get no response/click. I keep my power supply shaded when running and it is only out when the robot is running. Did you end up finding a a fix for this?

He sorry for never replying, guess I didn't have email notifications enabled.

So luckily I was under warranty still, and Maytronics just shipped me a new power supply. They didn't ask for the old one back, so I kept it around just in case. The new supply has been working fine, but I did notice that the buttons on it also bulge from time to time. Wondering if manufacturing issues or what.

What ended up happening to yours?
