My AGP Build up in the great white north-Hot Tub & Deck*NEW*

Well, Finally the snow has melted, thought it was never gonna go, so I can begin my new pool setup, while I'm waiting for the guy to come and trench my Gas line and hook up my heater, I thought I would start the pool shed setup. I decided since the equipment was going to be on a wood floor, that I would make a galvanized drain pan.
I just noticed in my haste, the ozonator injector was installed backwards, I must have grabbed it the wrong way when I went to glue it, so now I'll have to cut the line and add a union, oh well atleast I left enough pipe to glue to.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

:goodjob: Overall that looks like a great plumbing job, top end components and nice lines.

You might want a separate drain pan for the pump. There will always be some water coming out of the strainer basket every time it gets opened, especially if you are below pool water level there, and it is nice if that water is contained and directed out of the area.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

Thanks, I've sure learned alot from the people of this site, what a great resource tool it has been!
I still have to put a drain line in the pan, and actually have it so the low point is right near the front of the pump.

I'm trying to decide where to set my chlorine barrel for the chlorine injection, I'm wondering if it should be in a separate area away from the equipment, or how corrosive it is.
The injection point will be right after the Tee from the ozonator venturi.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north - Pool's Up!

Progress!, the pool is up, here is some pic's of my build!
Still some things to finish before the deck build begins.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

Finally!, my Rola-chem injection pump arrived, so now I can begin the automation.
I installed the Ozonator, unfortunately I never would have bought the darn thing if I had read up on it from this site, I can't even tell if it is working, I tested my water this morning with the following results:
FC 1ppm
TC 2ppm
CC 1ppm
PH 8.0
TA 120
CH 180
CYA 0 (haven't added any yet)

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

tried to post earlier, but it kicked back and said I couldn't post so soon in same topic (?)-
Anyway- looks great IMO, know you're looking forward to enjoying the fruits of your labors!

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

Here is my ozonator hard at work???
I'll have to say one thing, I had 1ppm CC, but I tested after I ran it for a few hours and it was 0ppm CC.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north

Just tested my water again,
FC 2ppm
TC 2ppm
CC 0ppm
PH 7.5
TA 110
CH 200
CYA ?? (waiting to test since I just added some, should be around 20?)
Temp is a whopping 55 degrees, guess I'll have to wait for the gas connection to the heater to warm it up!

now with the cover on, I haven't used any chlorine all day!

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north-NEW Deck build

Well,
The pool is heated, the deck is started, almost had a heart attack when I mis-read the meter, I thought it had costed me $500 the last week to heat this thing, when infact it was only $50, woo hoo! I changed the deck layout as my wife didn't want a 3-teared deck, rather she wanted a plain single level deck, oh well, less stairs to get to the pool!

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north-New DeckBuild P

Nice project :goodjob:

A little off topic, but by the looks of that last pic (in the background), I'm sure you're neighbors will be ready to pick your brain as to how to build a deck

LOL. New development where deck was an option?

Your pool looks great. I would worry though about small children and that deck-to-pool situation. Will you have a gate?

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north-New DeckBuild P

Hey mart242, you can keep all that rain over there, for the first time in a lot of years we are getting a beautiful may long weekend forcast nothin but sunshine and upper 20's!
Cranked the pool up to 90 tonight and I don't think the wife and her friend will ever get out!
dmanb2b, LOL, yeah, watch that first step out the door!
gsxrken, I'm considering it, especially when we were in the pool, and the neighbors 4yr old wondered into my yard walk right past my wife while she was reading a book, climbed the ladder and peeked his head over the rail of the pool before anyone noticed, that scared the Crud out of me, so now I'm putting pad locks on all the gates, and I'm going to gate off the pool as well.

Re: My AGP Build up in the great white north-New DeckBuild P

Deck is almost complete, just have to do the skirting, last board, and stain it, here is some pic's, see what you think!
