I went from a SE back to a Polaris 360 which uses the existing pump pressure.
Short version is the robot cleaned fine dirt better but the Polaris is better with leaves and sticks mainly because it runs when the pump runs which is 24/7 now.
If the SE would have lasted 6 or 7 years and they sold parts I would have bought another one but I am not convinced they will hold up yet. And $250 a year is a lot to

Well for some reason it's back working.. Seems it wanted to work when it wanted to work.. I would turn it on and set it but wouldn't start working until next cycle. So it would work perfectly until it shuts off after a few cycles or I unplug it to clean it and back to it working on the next cycle like I stated above...

Do you think you may have accidentally had it in automation mode?
Also, If you could borrow someone else’s power supply you could test your theory on that being the issue.
Mine did that before it completely quit. Did that for a few months.
It had water in the propeller motor when I took it apart.
Might also check the swivel and make sure it’s clean and dry

Well it seems like the issue is the swivel or whatever that is called.. Had it out of the pool for a few days now because of all the rain we are having and today I threw it back into the pool and it didn't come on... After a few minutes of looking at it while in the water, I spun the swivel or the anti tangle thingie (LOL), and I started to spin it and low and behold, the blue flashing light came on. Now to take it apart (If it's possible) and clean it.
Yea it will screw apart. Mine would get algae around where the cable goes through the O-ring so would dry it and wipe it down and add a little pool lube on that part of the cable
Hey Mark, similar situation here. My SE lasted 3 years as well, I had a polaris 280 before and it did a much better job and cleaning up the palm tree trash. I like your idea of going with Polaris 360 since my booster pump was removed. Need a new cleaner ASAP. 3 questions:
1. What pump speed is required for the 360?
2. What return port to use use? I have about 5 in addition to the old polaris 280 port which i put a cheap pvc fountain on it
3. does the 360 spray water eveywhere with its tail at the water line like the 280?

I don't run my pump at a higher RPM but divert water returns from thje spa and pool to the spa and cleaner. For me it seems to be more about volume.
Mine has a built in " cleaner" fitting in the pool so was an easy installation

Mine never seemed to do much and kept getting stuck in the cleaner so took it off and plugged that hole.

Mine still sprays out some but in my experience the more water I can force through the insides the better it works.. I have a huge pump and have even tried cranking the pressure up but didn't help a lot.
Over all I am happy, it cleans good and I can fix it if needed.. I liked the Dolphin but the whole " throw it away and pay us another $700" every few years is too much for me.
Maybe they will start making pool robots water proof
I see, happy to hear we can remove the bad behaving water spraying tail! That was main reason I switched to dolphin. And they aren’t $700 any more I think, more like $1k+ now. Will have to figure out how to best plug or reduce the other 5 returns and leave the cleaner port only with Spa return. Following… my Warrior SE is almost 4 years old. Mostly seems to work but I feel like sometimes it’s maybe not pulling its weight any more. I don’t see it lasting much longer.
Really tempted to go back to a suction side cleaner… but our cost of power in California has gone absolutely bonkers and I’d really hate to have to start running my pump at higher rpm again.
Any other good new robots out there? Just get another Maytronics? What about these new cordless ones? I really want a pool Roomba…

The Maytronics have proven to be around 3 years lifespan. The cordless ones not sure reliability, but I don't like the hassle of removing them manually and charging them. I usually leave my cleaner in the pool.
I'm hoping I can run the Polaris 360 at low RPM as usual. I just bought one and some return eyeball reducer fittings on Amazon, hopefully it will help redirect enough water to the 360.

Ok, I closed all returns but one, closed Spa valve, running Tristar pump @2400RPM, flow rate = 50gpm, but the Polaris 360 doesn't move. @markayash what RPM are you running your pump at? normally I run pump at 1000rpm...This Polaris 360 looks to be a mistake.
