Any suggestions on how to attach a small 12x12x12 sun sail to the pool in the pic? We believe the decking is aluminum. Its a 24x48 pool, with no shade. The decking is 2ft wide on every section except the spot where the ladder and stairs are. That measures 5x10. I don't want full shade but just enough where my hubby will actually be able to get in the pool.

What is the ground situation like ? You can anchor one point to the house but the other 2 will need 6x6 wood posts. Once you have the anchor spots, steel cables with turnbuckles will keep it tight.

We had two large shade sails in GA. I had 2 points to attach to my home, and installed 4x6 posts in concrete for the other attachment points. These worked great for shade in the pool, and for controlling pool temps in the summers in GA.

I used steel cables and turn buckels here, but if I were doing it again, I would install small winches at 2 corners of each sail to control the tautness of the shade sail and make it easy to take down during a storm.

Thank you! I might try attaching it to the garage but now I'm worried about wind. I have an almost treeless 2 acres so wind took out a gazebo and trampoline this morning. Would one of those giant 6ft umbrellas be a better option, or will the sails work as long as they are anchored ( thinking concrete and rebar through a metal post)?

I use/used (lost one from the summer we had last year) the Queen Palms and the house and pergola using paracord along with double/tripled up heavy duty bungee cords. This year may be more over the pool but we really need extra shade on the decking and under the pergola/grill area. Excuse the messy deck, was still setting up and we have 2 German Shepards.
Since we are replacing the A/C this year, adding steel posts may not be in the budget this year.
