My current pump took a dump.
Here she is.

My pool store who who I actually like, says the two speed isn’t supposed to be used with a sand filter.
Is that true?
here is the 1.5 two speed I’m interested in. $10 less than my current pump at local price. They want to look at it before I buy from them too. Thinks the points may need to be cleaned up.

Pump is three years old.
I drain but leave outside in winter.
Replaced seals today but she keeps tripping circuit breaker immediately upon turning on.

Tested my GFCI CB and timer. Both good.

Why is a two speed motor not to be used for a sand filter? That makes no sense. There is no minimum flow rate for a filter. In reality, it will filter better at a lower rate. Plus the electrical use on low speed is 25% of that of a single speed motor.

I would not take any of their recommendations.

Take care.
