Thought I would share these as a testament to TFP/BBB which got me back up and running after our recent renovation. For the first time since we bought this house and "this old pool" I am thrilled with it and I feel like I own it instead of it owning me! Thank you to everyone on this board, truly, from the bottom of my heart. Draining the pool (liner replacement) and moving electrical... Attachment: pool0.jpg Replacing leaky skimmers... Continued... Three weeks later, the new patio is in, liner installed, pool filled, water clear and landscaping started! Attachment: pool10.jpg Attachment: pool11.jpg Attachment: pool12.jpg Since then we've power-washed the old concrete apron and it all looks awesome. Thanks again for everyone's guidance and patience!

omg! That is a lot of work you have put into that project. Excellent outcome, really impressive Now it's time for your kids to enjoy the work you have done with this pool, must be blast for them. I can't wait until I can offer my small ones the same thing. Now I'm looking forward to a few swim pics in this thread, after that I'm fullfilled

I haven't even taken a picture of the boys in the pool yet, usually that's the first one I take. I will get right on that though!
It was a heck of a lot of work but so, so badly needed. Last year we were losing, no kidding, 2-4 inches of water every day because of those leaky skimmers alone. The liner was at least 8 years old, maybe older, and it had been patched etc. to within an inch of its life.
My husband threatened to fill it in more than once. (I am the pool lover, he reluctantly agreed to buy this house as long as I took care of the pool.) And I got so disheartened by last year (year 3 in this house), I was about to agree.
This year he said, "Okay, we're going to fix everything at once, and it BETTER be all fixed!"
He is one happy fella now.
