Hi, getting ready to have a 17K gallon fiberglass pool installed. I know I want the the Intelliflo 011018 Pump, IC40 Chlorinator, and 420 Clean Clear Plus Cartridge Filter. I will be using a Prolwer for cleaning. Only feature being added to pool is an LED light.

I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy from contractor or Pentair on whether or not I need the Easytouch. I'm doing the electrical install and don't want to complicate the install if not needed...

Any help, in layman terms would be greatly appreciated.

No need for the Easy Touch.

All Intelliflow models have their own timers now.

The Intellichlor might be a candidate for a simple timer but that's it.

Agree with PoolGuyNJ no need for Easytouch as you don't have deck jets or other features to work remotely. Save that money and use for something else.

Thanks, you guys are telling me what I think I already knew. The savings would be about $200.

For $200 it might be worth it for the expansion ability in the future. If you do an intellibrite in the pool you can sync with intellibrite yard lights, etc. If you don't think you'll ever do more than what you have planned, don't add something else to break.
