Pool looks great! :goodjob:

1. Do NOT trust pool store testing. They say TA 27? :hammer: :grrrr:

2. Trust your testing. You got the 'serious' kit and you posted TA as 60 on Thursday
which sounds like it is coming up nicely. So, no, don't adjust TA.

Use the PoolCalculator.com in the "Effects of Adding Chemicals" section to figure how
much CYA has been added to your pool via the pucks.

You're done shocking when:
1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

Tested this morning:
FC 2.5
pH 8.0 (added muriatic acid to adjust)
TA 40-50 - is it odd that this went *down* since last Thurs??
CYA - less than 9 (filled to the top and could still see the dot) - am now adding 4 lb. CYA in a filter sock in the skimmer.

A milestone - today I didn't *have* to add any adjusters :-D
FC 2.5
pH 7.5
TA 60 (guess it's on its way back up - I *did* add some water to compensate for evaporative loss yesterday, maybe that's why I had a lower TA reading?)
CH 190
CYA - the 4 lbs in the sock have mostly dissolved.

So it's been about 2.5 weeks since the plastering was done, and my TA readings still seem to be around 50-60 ppm. Is it time to add some baking soda?
Calcium hardness seems to be coming along nicely - read 220 this morning. FC 2.0
