What test kit are you using? If I recall correctly, DPD and OTO chlorine get bleached when the FC is very high. That's why this site recommends FAS-DPD for chlorine test.

When using cal-hypo for every ppm of FC, you added at least 0.7ppm of CH. You could double check this using pool calculator. In regards to whether you added that much CH, assume you lose 2ppm of FC each day, then you have added about 84ppm (2*60*0.7) of CH within the 2 months.

Thanks for confirming my dilemma. Yes, that specific pump's model uses the same diffuser. Unfortunately, most of the pumps sold in my country are single speed and the distributor has to indent it if I want the 2 speed or variable speed model.

Instead of brushing, why not try using pressure cleaner to fasten the process?
