    DE fliter leak

Hello, I have a DE filter that is running at 20psi, and seems to work fine when the pool pump is on, but when the pool pump goes off, water streams (not trickles) out of the top the DE filter. Any idea what is causing it? Appreciate any help you can give me...thanks!

Metal Effects on Health (not pool)

Thank you all for the advice. As for the pool heater, when we checked the pH was extremely low, on the test strips, it was as low as the measurement went (as for how long, we have no idea, as we moved in 3 weeks ago). I hope it was the pool heater, otherwise there may be another way the copper...

Metal Effects on Health (not pool)

Thanks for the reply. There was a 10+ yr old heater, that we believe was the cause. I don't know if there was a mineral system or not... As for the levels I don't know how high it once was, as the people at Leslies pools would only say its the highest they had see all year (wish I had got a...

Replacing water in inground pool with vinyl liner

Spoke with the health department. We have a septic system, so the water levels due to leach fields, etc, are relatively high. He said ground water is 50" below the ground, and even 19" below ground you get some mottling. The pool does sit above the neighboring ground, so I am not sure how...

Replacing water in inground pool with vinyl liner

Thanks Bama....again...admittedly a newbie to the pool world. What exactly should I ask the county about the water table?

Replacing water in inground pool with vinyl liner

Thanks for the welcome, and the reply.... I would chlorinate through a Hayward chlorinator, but was told by the people @ Leslie's pools not to bother with adding any chemicals until the copper issue is resolved. Is that incorrect? I have not added chems in some time due to this issue (I know...

Replacing water in inground pool with vinyl liner

Hello, I am excited to be able to join this forum, as I recently purchased a home with a pool. This is my first entry into pool ownership, but I have been reading everything I can. Unfortunately my excitement has been dampening as we found an issue with significantly elevated levels of copper...
