How fast can algae grown in Florida?

I had a good discussion and continuing with twice a week service through the summer. It seems most likely that the previous owner started neglecting the pool after we signed the contract. As I was remote, my realtor did the walk-through and probably did not check the pool very closely. I have...

How fast can algae grown in Florida?

Yes, I've started the SLAM and will be talking to him tomorrow. I don't really care if this guy or somebody else does it but I want it done right. I've already let him know this is a temporary situation until I get settled here permanently. For now I've agreed to twice a week service and I'll...

How fast can algae grown in Florida?

I just purchased a house in Florida with a small gunite/pebbletec pool (gulf coast near tampa). My guess is it's only about 8k gallons. I live in Houston and have a ~30k gallon gunite/pebbletec pool that I've maintained (with the help of TFP!) for 25 years. As I won't be at the new house much...

Jandy Colors Digital Color Blending Light Fails Repeatedly

Wow. I have a 14 month old Jandy light with a bulb out (2 months out of warranty). I hope mine doesn't look like that when I get it out. I checked the price on replacement bulb kits. The Jandy kit is about $20 for two bulbs but you can get 75W MR-16 EYC bulbs from electronics supply houses...

Did you buy it locally or did you order it? It doesn't seem to be stocked by any of the bigger online retailers.

    skimmer trouble

Did the pool guy tear down the filter when he opened it? If not, you should really do that. I usually tear down the filter at the beginning of the season and again in late summer. I also backwash at least once or twice in between tear downs. Backwashing is cheap and easy. Teardown is pretty...

    Polaris 3900 Vs Polaris 280

Just did a search and found this thread. I received my $225 rebate offer for the 3900 in the mail today. I have a appr 10 year old Polaris 280 that just won't die and was wondering if there was a good reason to upgrade. Apparently not.

Advice? replacing pool / spa controller - Jandy ji 200

The reason to go with the Jandy upgrade is that it uses the same Power Center, valve actuators, relays and wiring as your existing system. All that you will be replacing is the main board in the Power Center and adding a nice LCD control pad in place of your current indoor control pad.

I usually put it in early before the vacuum runs and run the vacuum longer to let it push the salt around. Kids are also good at spreading the salt...

Jandy Aqualink Experts!! Jandy Aqualink Firmware Upgrade

OK. I called Jandy. They actually sell a chip only upgrade for my unit which is Jandy part number 8172. The funny thing...the chip by itself is about $1700. Needless to say, I ordered the 7902 for under $800 and will replace the PCB with the new one. Now I'll have an extra nearly complete...
