Castlerock Pools in Katy out of business?

Has anybody heard about this? Does anybody have any real life experiences with Castlerock recently? They built my pool in 2008, had relatively minor issues that were rectified by them. I just came across this on another website.

    Castlerock Pools

Hi y'all- So far, so good as far as the pool build by Castlerock. Lately though, been having problems trying to get service to respond to phone calls. Anybody else experiencing this?

Run booster pump without cleaner attached?

Hello all- I seem to be getting a grasp on the water testing thing and now have a question regarding equipment. The other day, while the cleaner was out of the pool, I turned the cleaner on by accident on the panel. The booster pump did not sound like it was running right. Very loud...

Newbie w/ First Test Results and Questions

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep this in mind for future use. I'm not sure if I'll be the permanent water tester yet. I might get lazy and let the local supply store test my water for me. We'll see.

Newbie w/ First Test Results and Questions

A belated welcome to you Cayman. It's nice to see a fellow newbie in here. I'm at the same stage as you are, as far as testing water. With my pool being new, my readings are quite different from yours. I'm going to watch your postings closely. Good luck!

    VtownTom's First Water Test...Comments please?

Yeah, there's a regular hose bib spigot on the top of my pump discharge piping, they used that when they did the pressure test on the plumbing. I also have an overflow line that runs to the street. Not sure if I can use that line to "pump" drain the pool though. I could also run a hose from...

    VtownTom's First Water Test...Comments please?

If I start using regular bleach, in the long run, won't I have to eventually add stabilizer? If so, in what form does one normally buy stabilizer? Now I gotta figure out how to drain the pool if I decide to do that. I know there must be a way to do it with the panel in service mode or...

    VtownTom's First Water Test...Comments please?

257WbyMag- Thanks for the tip. I recall reading that somewhere on this website about using a diluted acid wash and stiff brush. Will try that this weekend. I'm trying to get my PH levels down, but patience is not one of my strongpoints. We have hard water here so I'm thinking that has...

    VtownTom's First Water Test...Comments please?

Jason, thanks for the information. My PB told me that the PH would be high because its a new pool. If I stop using the pucks and go with only bleach, will there be side effects to doing this? I mean, the stabilizer is in those pucks for a reason right? Will going to bleach make it easier to...

    VtownTom's First Water Test...Comments please?

OK, so technically, this is the second test as the first one was done during pool school last Friday. Here are my results..... FC=5ppm TC=5ppm Br=7ppm Ph=8ppm CH=240ppm CyA=100ppm TA=180ppm Water temp was 67F at the time of the test. Both chlorine levels were on the high side, not sure if...

El Duderino's Austin Pool Build - FINISHED with PICS

Re: El Duderino's Austin Pool Build I've been checking in every now and then on your progress. Myself, I find it easier to post a link rather than post a bunch of pictures here. But anyway, because of your geographic location, it seems like you have a whole host of issues regarding your dig...
