I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

Here's the pics of my set up. I just added a Kokido chlorine feeder I got off Ebay for $20. Working pretty good but I had to make a new pipe for it because the one that came with it leaked. Got tired of the floater getting sucked into the skimmer.

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

So far I love it and it's working great. I haven't found any good reviews of it so I made a couple of Youtube videos if anyone is interested. Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner Review Part 1 - YouTube Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner Part 2 - YouTube

    upgrading filter pump

Intex has a new 3000gph sand filter. I've seen it for around $180.

Anyone using the new Intex 3000gph sand filter?

I'm mostly concerned about getting a pump that has enough suction for vacuuming that wont break the bank. My 1600 sand filter doesn't.

Vacuum Pool, Dirt returns within a couple hours????

Get a Unicel. Difference is night and day. I posted some pics of my Intex cart and the the Unicel after running a week. Intex was still white, Unicel was brown and full of dirt. Unicel is about $15 at Amazon and will last up to 5 years if cleaned properly.

Will this sand filter/pump combo work with Wanda the Whale?

I have the 1600gpm sand filter with .5hp motor and though filtration and circulation are excellent, this pump doesn't have enough reserve for vacuuming. I loose about half the suction with vacuum connected so I wouldn't got with a pump with less than 1hp.

Anyone using the new Intex 3000gph sand filter?

I want to replace my old 1600 since I went from an 18' to 22' pool. I've found it for as low as $179 which is a pretty good deal. I was also thinking of rigging up 2 2500gph cartridge filters together but the sand filter is less complicated.

Taking screen off intex return eyeball

If you're talking about the screen at the end of the actual eye ball, I removed it with a Dremmel. It cut down on the back pressure and noise.

    Cartridge filter comparison

I should have mentioned that I also have a 1600gph sand filter that I use for the Hayward skimmer and for vacuuming that keeps the pool clear. I have the 1500gph cartridge pump set up to circulate water from the floor of the pool-PVC pipe going down from the old slimmer port in the wall and used...

    Cartridge filter comparison

I used the Intex filter first. The Unicels are good for at least 4 years if you clean them properly and don't go into the pool covered in sun tan oil. They can be acid washed too.

    Cartridge filter comparison

I just wanted to show the difference between the Intex and Unicel filters. I have the 1500 GPH pump. Each filter was used for 2 weeks with the pump set to run 2 hours a day. The filter on the left is Unicel, the right is Intex. Aside from large pieces of debris, the Intex didn't catch much dirt...
