    Pump Replacement

So, after 8 years, I'm ready to replace the original pump for my above ground pool. I've been doing some research for the past few days and I have to admit that I'm not sure what to purchase. I started by calculating the flow rate that I would need for two turnovers of 18000 gallons. (37.5 gpm x...

    Rusted pool wall

After I posted my last reply I realized that I didn't answer your question. I leveled it all by hand with a shovel and rake, section by section, using a laser transit to maintain level. The ground was very hard packed, so I had to break it up with a rotary hammer using it's chisel attachment. I...

    Rusted pool wall

I apologize for the delayed response Kim, but shortly after my previous post, we went on vacation for a week, so absolutely nothing was done until the 4th of July. The photo below was taken just after I moved all the sand back to the pool area. I laid the original pad down as a buffer between...

    Rusted pool wall

So I'm now one step closer. Leveling of the site is complete. All blocks have been properly located and leveled. Yesterday I scrubbed and applied armor all to the resin uprights and top rails. They dont look like new, but I can live with the results. Getting there!

    Rusted pool wall

Zea3, what you describe is pretty much exactly what happened to my pool. I was lucky to catch it before the pool failed. Everything you describe was occurring with mine. The condensation, the blistering on the outside of the pool, and the water weeping out of the blistered area that had rusted...

    Rusted pool wall

I've made a little progress since my last post. Not nearly as much as I would have liked, but the weather hasn't fully cooperated and my paying job gets in the way of the time I can spend working on the project. The plastic that you see by the shed covers the sand that I removed from the pool...
