    Starter Test kit

to take the chlorine from 0 to 4 on a 6500 gallon pool you would add 39 oz. of 8.25% bleach. that is roughly a third of a jug.

Connecting hayward skimmer to intex pump.

i do know it's possible if you have extra gaskets. the intex hose won't screw on all the way to a standard thread, but if you use two gaskets at connection point, you can make up the distance to prevent leaking. i decided to hard plumb.

Connecting hayward skimmer to intex pump.

go the electrical section and look for the cantex adapters. the one that screws into the bottom of the skimmer looks like this. the ones that you use to attach to the pump and everything else looks like this. sand it so the top is smooth. use 1 1/2 pvc pipe.

How to straighten out Intex AGP leg after pool is full

a word of warning. when i first set up my pool a few years ago one of the legs wasn't positioned correctly. i tried to lift it up when the pool was partially full and cracked a t-joint. best thing to do is take the pool down and relevel.

    New skimmer with slow leak

i would unscrew everything and check to make sure the gasket is sitting flush with the liner. something as simple as a slight repositioning may stop the leak. put it back together and tighten all the screws. if there is still a leak you could try using a tube of silicone to caulk around the...

    Starter Test kit

taylor k1000 oto basic test kit. this will get you started until you can afford one of the larger kits. after you fill your pool, the first thing i suggest is adding about a third of a jug of bleach. using a saltwater generator and a CYA of 30, i typically like to have my chlorine at 3 ppm...

    Josey Wales - Sand Filter

it's possible the particles are too small to be filtered out by the sand filter, so i'd give the DE a shot.

Thought this pool thing would be easy... help!

it sounds like you need to slam your pool. info on how to do this can be found in the pool school section. you'll need either a tf-100 or a taylor k-2006 test kit for this process. i highly recommend getting a sand filter. Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump - Walmart.com

First above ground pool. Make sure I have everything correct.

if you put the fountain on a separate line, you'll have more control over the height of the fountain because you can close off the return port. with it on the same line, the fountain is going to be a lot smaller because a lot of water is going to the return port.

First above ground pool. Make sure I have everything correct.

brad, my only suggestion is have the pipes come all the way to the ground. halfway up the pool could be a safety risk for a small child that could climb on top of the pipe and then get into the pool.

Is It A Leak or Evaporation?

A two inch drop overnight isn't normal, it sounds like you have a leak. First check around your skimmer and all your hoses to make sure there isn't a leak at one of the connections. Inspect around the perimeter of the pool to see if the ground is wet. If you don't see any holes on the side...

Bug spray in pool, please help!

Richard, will chemicals in the spray pose any health risk or will the bleach take care of it? Right now I've got the pump set to waste with the skimmer open trying to drain it off the surface of the water.

Bug spray in pool, please help!

I have an intex pool and recently had some yellow jackets build a hive inside one of the openings around the top rail. I shot some wasp/hornet spray in there and then flushed it out with the hose. When I flushed it out with the hose, the bug spray got in the pool and now there is a clear oily...
