    New equipement chemistry goes wacky

Yes, CYA is 90 now that i drained a little water. The chart only went to 80. Is there that much of a jump from 80 to 90?

    New equipement chemistry goes wacky

I was thinking FC 6 would be good. 30 has me worried for swimming.

    New equipement chemistry goes wacky

I drained about 8" of water and refilled. I let it circulate overnight and tested it this afternoon. CL 30 FC .5 TA 120 PH 7.4 CH 300 CYA 90 Water temp 71 Should I keep waiting with the SWG off or use something to drop the Chlorine level. It's taking a long time to come down on it's own.

    New equipement chemistry goes wacky

Update. I got my new Taylor test kit today. FC still tests 30ppm, PH 8, Alkalinity 120, CYA is 100, Hardness 320. Is there anything I can do to drop the FC faster? I have the pump running 24/7. 4hr@3000rpm, 7hr@1700rpm and 13hr@1400rpm. I don't plane on running it 24/7 forever. I will reprogram...

    New equipement chemistry goes wacky

I have used this forum and the BBB method for many years in my Plainfield Illinois home with never a problem. We moved to a Florida home with and IG pool in August of 2017. The 1-1/4HP pump went out during the first year and was replaced under the home warranty. They put in a 2.2HP pump. After...

Moved to Fl. New to salt water pool.

Thank you for the responses. Sorry I have been too busy unpacking to respond. My chlorine is slowly coming down, it is at 14 now. The other day I opened the main drain and closed the skimmer add put the hose in the pool. I let it run and let the auto leveler drain the pool. Hoping to dilute the...

    Chlorine level stays high

frustratedpoolmom: I use the TF-100 for everything but PH. I think I'm going to get rid of the nature 2 this week. I for sure will not buy a replacement one for next season. I will be moving my filter away from the pool and putting it next to my house along with the used heater I bought so...

    Chlorine level stays high

Yes, it has been cloudy and unseasonably cool here. I shocked with 1lb of HTH super shock and swim after the family and neighbors were swimming Sunday. I checked the water this morning, Tuesday, and the chlorine is at 8. Without the sun and with the solar cover on is it normal for the chlorine...

    Chlorine level stays high

My Chlorine level is at 5ppm using the tf100 test kit. I had 2 pucks in the inline feeder but they have been gone for 5 days now. I am using the Nature2 cartridge because it came with the pool but will switch to BBB next season. PH is 7.6 T/A is 150 and CYA is 40. The water is crystal clear but...

    T/A is way too high

There was something in the tip of the bottle of the R-0009. I cleaned it out and wipe the tip between drops. The drops are noticeably bigger and my reading are still high but closer to normal. I am working it down with acid and then I will aerate to bring PH back inline. Thanks for the help. Can...

    T/A is way too high

I will check the bottles and test my tap water today. Looks like I'll have to order more R0009.
