New Pool Design - Choosing Contractors

Thanks Jim, that seems like good advice. It was either that or more 'bench' seating, but we already have a lot of that on the two sides. The last time I had a pool nothing was automated. What do I need to know about the iAqualink and the EasyTouch? What size should all the pipes be...

New Pool Design - Choosing Contractors

Thanks. Yeah, we think it makes a fairly basic pool look a little more custom. No water features or anything like that to set it apart. I think maybe it would be around 18,500 gallons? What size filter would I need for that?

New Pool Design - Choosing Contractors

Hi everyone! We are trying to get a pool installed in our NE Florida home. It will be in one of or side/rear yards. Informal inquiry with the HOA says the location should be ok. I'll include a pic of the design idea. The reddish line on the bottom is a fence, after the fence the yard slopes...

Plumbing for new pump (valves, etc)

I'm replacing my 1 HP Hayward single speed pump with a Hayward Super Pump VS (SP2600VSP). I am also using this opportunity to replace the plumbing of the supply valves into my pump. Here is a pic of my current setup (with old pump): My question is what brand duct tape should I use to keep...

Cellulose Fiber floating on top of pool water

hmm... I guess I'll wait a bit and see what happens. It's raining today, the rain disperses the fiber so you can't see it. I'm not entirely convinced they put the right kind of sand in the filter - it was done before we bought the house, and quite possibly done on the cheap I have no idea...

Cellulose Fiber floating on top of pool water

Hey everyone, I apologize, but I don't have my own test kit. Luckily I don't think my question will really require test results. I've been using cellulose fiber with my sand filter. I slowly spread the fiber on the water in the skimmer drain. 2-3 cups until I notice any change in the psi...
