    Rant Robot Cleaners

My second Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus is on its last leg. They don't last longer than 4 years with regular daily use here in TX. The plastic bearings and chassis start crumbling from chlorinated water and fall apart. I did rebuild them a couple of times in the past, but nowadays the parts are hard...

Pump, heater and control panel replacement choices

Forgot to add, I have also installed the flow meter: FlowVis 2 x 2.5in. Complete Pool Flow Meter and Check Valve. Really like it - makes the VS pump speed adjustments very easy, however it adds some extra pressure to the return side.

Need some help identifying spa jet parts

Thank you, Bama Rambler! So, I am going to need a threaded adapter (212-4700), wall fitting (215-1190), the jet itself (229-****) and some 1" PVC pipe, right? Did I miss anything else?

Pump, heater and control panel replacement choices

Thank you, Jim! For my current setup EasyTouch 4 probably would be enough, but when I compared the systems I realized that I can get IntelliTouch for about the same price: the IntelliTouch load panel with personality board (including valve actuators and temp sensors) came to $1060. ScreenLogic2...

Need some help identifying spa jet parts

Hi All, One of my spa jets got broken - the internal part popped out during spa use. It looks like the little tabs that hold it inside the wall fitting have deteriorated over time and it got pushed out with the water pressure. I removed the wall fitting that was threaded into the pipe inside...

Pump, heater and control panel replacement choices

Just wanted to report back - I installed new Pentair MasterTemp 400K BTU heater, IntelliFlo VS pump and IntelliTouch control panel with i5+3 personality board and ScreenLogic2 interface. Had to rearrange some plumbing, but that was an easy part. It took me about a day to understand the logic of...

Pump, heater and control panel replacement choices

Got it. I will read EasyTouch and IntelliTouch system specs with my current and future pool/backyard control needs in mind before making final decision. Yes, that was the main reason why I wanted to connect it to my ISY Insteon controller, where I can create more complicated scenarios. :)...

Pump, heater and control panel replacement choices

Jimrahbe, thank you for the detailed answer! I will definitely be installing automated controls. My old Aqua Logic control board was linked to my ISY home controller via Autelis interface, it worked OK without any glitches, but I always wished the user interface was more polished. So, for the...

Hi All, love this forum, tremendous source of information! Been reading for a couple of years and now need collective wisdom on damaged equipment replacement options. Original pool configuration: In ground pool, 32,000 gallons with attached spa and waterfall, 400,000 BTU Hayward heater, Hayward...

    Pump motor replacement

Yes, it is a Century motor with Hayward logo on it. I don't know however, if they sell a "generic" version of this motor with the same characteristics.

    Pump motor replacement

Update: new motor arrived yesterday. Since I took the pump apart anyway, I decided to replace all seals, impeller, impeller ring and diffuser, which were showing some wear. Installed new parts without any problems, the pump is running like new. Thanks everyone for advice! :)

    Pump motor replacement

Yes, the one that just died was 1.5 HP. The pump manual parts list calls for SPX1610Z2M(S) motor. Here is what I found on ebay: Hayward 1.5 HP, 2 Speed Motor Replacement Northstar - HAYSPX1610Z2MNS It looks like the right one, but I am not sure what the difference in last three letters mean...
