Ok, I just checked the FC level again, it has been two hours since I did my first check and raised it to shock level and it's still there. This is why I wasn't sure if it was algae, the level doesn't drop fast at all.

Ok, so I tested after about hour and 45 min. and I am at 5.5 for FC so I need to shock again. Can I vacuum during this process? I can see spots where "stuff" is sitting on the bottom of the pool in the shallow end.

I started the CYA last night and then tested pH this morning and the CYA dropped it down to 7.2 so I didn't add the muriatic acid. I did my first round to shock and now how long do I wait before I test FC again?
