Variable speed install recommended electrical components.

Ya I figured for me, I could use the intermatic mechanical timer as the disconnect. I was just thinking that if there was ever an emergency where we needed to shut the pump off it would be easier for the wife or company to see a BIG red switch that says off.

Is the PS3000 what you used for your Intelliflo?

Variable speed install recommended electrical components.

So my Ecotech 1.5 hp VS motor finally shipped from being on backorder for quite awhile and I am preparing for the install. Currently at my pool pad I have a mechanical Intermatic timer, and do NOT have a local disconnect. I will be removing the Intermatic timer. 1. What is the recommended...

cya is 90, have to replace 50% of pool water?

I just had to drain for the same reason as you. Except my CYA level was probably well over 200. I used the 1/6 sump pump from harbor freight. Put it on the top step and pump into your sewer clean out. I would drain down to the point of almost losing suction, then I would start filling with...

    Time to replace filter?

For flow improvement i just mean for ex. if I have to run the pump at 2200rpm for enough flow to the skimmer with my current Purex, and the quad one allows me to run at say 1500 rpm for the same flow. RPM numbers are just made up for the example.

    Time to replace filter?

So you think that should give me a decent flow improvement over the Purex 2000? I'm just trying to see if it might allow me to lower the rpm of the pump significantly further for the same flow.

    Time to replace filter?

27 k gallon inground. 18 x 36 . No spa. Planning on renovating in 2-4 years and adding water features and spa. I will update my signature once I get home. Thank you for the link.

    Time to replace filter?

I believe I have the 60 sq ft version of the Purex 2000. I would be purchasing the Quad DE 100. In your opinion do you think I would see a decent improvement?

    Time to replace filter?

Can anyone who has upgraded to a Pentair Quad DE in any size tell me if they noticed less flow restriction?

    Time to replace filter?

From what I can see so far it looks like it would be under $100 worth of parts to replace all orings, and I also need a new holding wheel. Hopefully the o-rings/tapered seal stop the leak. As I have stated in another post I am changing the motor from a 1.5 hp to a variable speed Ecotech 1.5 for...

Going w/Liquid Chlorine Exclusively. Anyone Else w/Me?

Thanks I didnt even know about that. Need to spend more time on the site I guess. Just called. My local Hasa dealer has it for $19.26 for 4 gals of 12.5% But they told me not to run CYA between 30-50, suggested 90 cya level for Socal....

Going w/Liquid Chlorine Exclusively. Anyone Else w/Me?

From one newbie to another.... If the pool store chlorine is actually 10% not 12.5% for $8, then you are better off getting it elsewhere. I get mine from Lowes usually. I checked the Chandler AZ lowes and they sell it for $6.86. 2 gal box of 10% *** If you snoop around online you can find a...

    Pump replacement recommendation.

Do you think that the ecotech motor would still be adequate for the upgrades we plan to do in 2-4 years?
