The pumps that I am looking at all say they are for 1.5" pipe. My current piping is all 2". Can I just use a reducer or will I need to change out the pipe?

Just as I suspected, the pump is completely seized up. I read through that hayward worksheet, and that was a lot of info. I will be replacing the pump and impeller but I need to do this as economically as possible. I did the math on the worksheet and my pool is 19805 gallons I have 2" piping...

After doing some searching online, I have found some talk about TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids. Apparently if this is too high it can cause a bad taste. Do you know of a way to test for TDS?

What could be causing the water to taste bad? I started this season with an uncovered swamp. But have a crystal clear pool now with good chemical levels. My TA is high at around 200, but everything else is in range. I use bleach for chlorine. The only thing I have down differently this year is...

How full should the sand filter be? When I looked in mine the other day, it is no more then 3/4 of the way full. I am not sure what size it is, but it measure about 24" tall and 21" wide.

Where should I look for one of these motors, and what brand?
