That's what I'm paying -- my local pool store charges $3.99/gal or 4 for $13.99, regularly. It's very very close to the same price per ounce of Wal-Mart brand bleach (after factoring in the larger bottles at lower solution). But I get it in smaller containers, and less possibility of it...

OK, at first the new seal and Magic Lube didn't seem to make a difference. So I moved the collar to a 90-degree position, and it seems to have stopped the leak. I'm running the filter 24x7 now, but it will be interesting to watch how this holds up once it starts cycling once a day. Thanks...

Day 6 AM check -- FC = 15, and CC = 1 Water looks good! 98% there... I had a FC loss of 2, and CC came down from 2 to 1. Hopefully only 2 more days. Thanks everyone for all your help and inspiration. I look forward to a crystal clear pool, and more $$$ in my pocket! Thanks, Chris

I used the rubber mallet trick last night. Thanks for the suggestion Wolfmarsh! It helped, but did not stop the leak. Instead of a steady stream, it's now more of a drip, but from the same spot. I think the O-rings are like $10, so I'll just grab another one on the way home today. Is there...

OK then. I'm not even taking it out of my car. I found another pool store that sells this. The side of the bag says 49/20. I'm guessing that means .49mm / #20. So we'll go that route. THANKS!

I found the manufacturer of the sand here but no mention that it is specifically for the pool. Should I take it back and try another store?

OK, I may take the day off from work tomorrow to swap out the sand if my overnight FC test holds (after looking at the water today, I'm really hoping it does). It is SUPER crystal clear! I'm amazed by the results! (pic below) I stopped by the pool store today to buy sand. They only sell #16...

Looks nice and clear this morning. Tried the overnight FC test last night, but it was stormy. I went to bed with 22 PPM (I over shot) and woke up with 10 PPM. But it rained 1/2 to 3/4" overnight. So I've topped up again this morning and will just keep checking and filling and try again tonight.
