Anyone used Clorox Chlorine Stabilizer? (CYA granules)

But there is no way my pool was at 60 ppm before I added it. (60 +20 = 80 that I see today?) It was not even testing to 20! ????

Looking to start SLAM, used K-2006 for first time - please review

I posted over in the balancing forum, as my CYA is today reading at 80. I hope that is temporary?? This is really frustrating and I don't know if I should proceed or stop. I was doing well, Friday into saturday morning, keeping the FC over 25. I think I see some lightening and clearing, but...

Anyone used Clorox Chlorine Stabilizer? (CYA granules)

If so, have you seen a huge increase in CYA, over and above the instructions? Here's my story... Earlier in the week, my pool would not register CYA. I could fill the tube until it runneth over, and I could always clearly see the dot. 20 was the lowest the test went, so I figured I was 10 if...

I tested again after approx 1 hr 15 mins. FC is 25 CYA is maybe up a bit, closer to 60. The dot test seems iffy and I fear I may look too hard for it.

The instruction on the stabilizer was to slowly add to the skimmer. That is what I did. The 53 was from the k-2006 kit, based on reading it a bit over 50, below 60.

In what dept do you find Cyanuric acid at the local big box hardware store?

Thanks very much. I did good, then. (I thought I was looking for a non-pool chemical.)

Thank you so much for the quick reply. On the CYA... I clearly raised it significantly overnight. When a week passes, should I expect it to be higher or lower than the read I got approx 9h after administering it? It was clorox granuals and I added it very slowly into the skimmer. My pressure...

I was walking through Lowe's and saw muriatic acid with the chemicals near paint. Where is CYA usually located? It was near closing and the staffer I spoke to hadn't heard of it. Thanks!

I had an HTH kit which in recent weeks has indicated several times the CYA was not even reaching 20. After letting the pool sit for a few days due to being busy, and having had a CYA read of 10 Last night, I added 4 lbs of clorox granular pool stabilizer which i found last night at Lowe's. This...

The shock I used says 68% calcium hypochlorite. I picked up the hth kit from WalMart for $22. That's the best I will have for now. I have a reserve of bleach here...

Hello, so I picked up a kit and have the following measurements: My CYA isn't really even registering to 30, it is so weak. So I guess I should add some of this stuff? (How much?) My Ph is at 7.2 :) My chlorine is at .5 and my Bromine is at 1. I'll take any suggestions!

I cleaned the cartridge this morning. This cartridge is only a few days old. I used a product they call "shock" which comes in 1 lb powder format.

I have a whisperflo pump and cartridge filter now at 150 sq ft. The pool is fiberglass shell from the 70s with a new-ish liner (4 yo.) having just uncovered it two weeks ago, I have mostly been shocking it and then threw in some powder chlorine left over from last year-- probably 4 lbs total...

Hello, This is my first year being responsible for the inground pool. 18 x 36 rectangle, approx 25,000 gallons, shallow and deep end. I have used the pool and helped in the past, but never had to maintain it myself. Today I am reading about FTP & BBB in searching for answers. After...
