Jandy AquaLink RS - Program Scheduling Nightmare

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the exact same issue, and I was hoping that you might be able to share how you got it fixed, if you did.

    Muriatic Acid additions with Borates

I retested the CYA level and realized that it was actually down to 50 from 80. Based on that, I figured that the Borate level was actually lower than I thought, so I went ahead and added enough borax to go from 30 to 50. The next time I need to add acid, I'll go by what the calculator says, and...

Can bubbles in return be caused by leak in return side?

Do you have a salt system? If so, then they could be coming from the SWG. I can see small bubbles coming out of the closest return to the pump when the pump is on low and the SWG is running. Turning off the SWG makes the bubbles go away.

    Muriatic Acid additions with Borates

I thought about that, but I didn't seem to overshoot before I added the borates. Playing with the numbers in the calculator, my pool would have to be more like 15k gallons for 32 oz of acid to drop the pH from 7.9 to 7.6 with the test results as listed above. However, if I lower the borates to...

    Muriatic Acid additions with Borates

Hi all! My pool was completed last August, and I spent the last month of the swimming season getting the hang if the TFP method. Over the winter, I read about the benefits of borates and decided to take the plunge. I only had to add acid every week or two, and all seemed well. Fast forward...

Wall Whale XL Vs. Sweep Ease -- A quick comparison

I use my XL for the walls and the standard nylon brush for the floor. Since I have a pool cleaner, I think it works pretty well. And yes, the XL is really tough to use on the floor, but that's why it's called a Wall Whale.

    Return Jets

Thanks Jim. I'm really only looking to change out the one for the bubbler and leave the rest of the returns alone, so hopefully this wouldn't change the pressure so much.

    Winterizing Water Features

This is my first winter with the new pool and last night was the first time the freeze protection came on. I previously installed actuators on the valves for our water features, which are two scuppers and three deck jets, and programmed the controller to open the valves as part of the freeze...

    Return Jets

Does anyone know where I can find replacement jets like the ones in the pictures below? I'm also looking for a cap so I can close off the bubbler in the event that i get a solar cover. They are 1 7/8" diameter. Thanks!

    Contact lenses and pool sanitation

I can't speak to the Frog system, but I can vouch for the affordability of a SWG. Other than electricity to run the pump and some water here and there to top off the pool, I spend about $10 per month on muriatic acid. If you haven't, I would recommend reading through the TFP Pool School before...

What does normal tile scaling look like?

Try going with a stronger mix of acid and see if that helps. I had some scaling below the rock wall on the far side of my pool within a few weeks of the first fill and it took a hefty amount of 1:4 MA to take it off. However, when I sprayed the MA on it, it would bubble and fizz, so I knew I was...

Question about the "extra drop" rule

Does the "extra drop" rule apply to the FAS-DPD test? I've noticed that if I add the extra drop when testing the FC, then my CC will be 0. However, if I don't add the extra drop when testing FC, then my CC is 0.5. Because the limit for CC is 0.5, this distinction could be important if the CC is...

Maybe I'm not understanding my OTO test

Maybe it's because I just got my pool a few months ago and this is my first fall, but the chlorine levels are all over the place with the crazy Texas weather we have. I guess I'm just looking for a quicker way to at least make sure my chlorine level is between 5 and 10 to know if I should dial...

Maybe I'm not understanding my OTO test

I understand that the FAS-DPD test is the most accurate way to determine my FC and CC. However, for daily testing, I'd rather not use the FAS-DPD as it takes longer to perform and would quickly use up all of the reagents. For daily testing, does anyone use and would recommend the 1-10 ppm...

Maybe I'm not understanding my OTO test

Last week, my FC was 10 as tested with the FAD-DPD test in my TF-100, but the OTO test looked like it was around 5. Any idea why that would be? I'm thinking of getting a K-2000 to replace the K-1000 as my CYA level of 80 for my SWG pool has a target FC of 6, but maybe I'm not understanding my...
