In my other post I mentioned that I talked to couple of PB's here and they said it is normal at low speeds. Mine primes all the way and then goes down to the top of the basket level. No air in the returns and runs like that all day. I programmed it to ramp up to 2000 rpm for 5 min every 4 hrs...

Use flex pipe with clamps.

Re: New Intelliflo VS pump. ea75 As they say think twice cut once. I would recommend " Think, Think & Think some more" then cut. You are gonna love the pump.

Re: New Intelliflo VS pump. I would use the primer no matter what. Not only it helps softening the pvc, it will also help removing any dirt on the pipe.

Most calculations do not consider steps and/or other feature that might reduce the gallons. You may be correct around 16000 - 18000 gallons

I put one after pump and before filter. Did not want the filtered water go to waste. :-). My filter has a drain though.

I put one to drain water from the pool after rain or partial drain. I attached a garden hose and drain the water in the clean-out.

I have talked to few of the pool builder here. They all said that air pockets in variable speed pumps at low speeds is normal. Mine goes down to the top of the strainer basket and stays there. I can leave the filter air purge valve open. No air or water comes out. Enough flow in the skimmer and...

This is the weired part Mark. Basket is half full at the end of the day. No air in the return jets. Filter bleeds solid stream of water.
