    Pool only or Pool/Spa

I will try to help. This comes down to lifestyle. We have a spa and love it. I can't imagine my pool without a spa. I don't know what type of water feature you want but a spa can spillover into the pool which is like having a waterfall, without the cost of 8 tons of boulders and an $8K...

Worried Im being taken by my pool builder

There is a difference in shotcrete and gunite. Gunite pools are typically very smooth, level and look great. Shotcrete can look very ridgid. They should not however, have cracks. They will have holes and look rough. I would take pictures as you've done, document your concern via. a simple...

    Scupper Question

I have stone scuppers coming out of a 24" raised beam wall. My question is this.... Do I need to seal the rock with plaster on the inside of the scupper? Right now, the design is just to build the scupper around the return pipe and let the water flow. My concern is two fold. First, I have a SW...

Plaster behind tiles or a waterfall out of the spa??

I'm curious to know if you are suppose to plaster (seal) behind tiles? So you would put ?? around the tile line and then go back and mortar your tiles? What about on a rock waterfall or weeping wall out of the spa and into the pool? Do they seal that concrete prior to placing the rock? Thanks.

    Pool Equipment pad size.

Bigger better....I have a heater and 3 pumps and load center. By local code the load center has to be 18" from the equipment. My pad is cut out to be 14 x 4. I believe the bigger the better as you never know what the future holds.

    Stone Sealers

Anyone have any suggestions on sealing stone? We are getting to the stone point with our salt water pool and need to make a decision on sealer. Thanks.

    Pressure Test Questions...Please help. Thanks.

I posted questions regarding pressure test but was wondering if I could get more opinions. We have shot the gunite on our pool and I noticed water around a skimmer. Did a pressure test and saw pressure was dropping, realized it was just a leak in the pipe which is blocking the suction (I...

Loss of pressure on this pipe

Here is the pipe that is losing pressure. I get the PSI to 20 and my skimmer fills up. I'm assuming this pipe has a leak around the threads. I put tape on it, screwed it back in and tightened. I did the pressure test and same thing. Drops about 2 lbs in 6 hrs, fills my skimmer and water starts...

    Pressure Test During Build

It did lose 2 lbs in about 6 hours during the day and it was all (I assume) from the pipe that is twisted on at the skimmer. My BP says once that pipe is gone the pool will be fine. Huh...the other skimmer doesn't do that, maybe I will switch pipes that are capping the water and see if that helps.

    Pressure Test During Build

Thank you. Started another pressure test today. The skimmer starts "dry" then fills up and slowly spills out. Put plumbers tape on the pipe...I assume it will lose pressure again. I will certainly document w/pictures and move forward. Thanks again.

    Pressure Test During Build

We did a pressure test on each line and everything came back fine. We finished plumbing and set up a "tree". Ran enough water through the pipes to get 15PSI and it stayed steady for an hour. I went to bed sleeping peacefully. :) I go back 12 hours later and my pressure dropped from 15PSI to...
