    Plaster Question 11 months in

The first pic of the line doesn't feel terrible. It is a bit rougher, and there are some little gouges, but it isn't algae.

    Plaster Question 11 months in

I wanted to get opinions on some things we've noticed with our plaster nearly one year after our build. We aren't night swimmers and rarely use our pool light, so it wasn't until a few weeks ago when we were in the hot tub one night that we noticed some issues in the finish that aren't easily...

My Pool Build in Cypress, TX

The confetti lantana is really hardy--it is pink, yellow, and orange. There is another variety that is red, orange, and yellow. I also love oleanders in a tropical landscape! Love the single trunk medjool. We've been considering palms, and I don't like most varieties, but these are pretty!

    Dolphin Triton

We just bought the Triton on Amazon for $845 with the cart. It is the BEST thing we've bought for the pool. That thing is amazing, and I would recommend it to anyone. The only drawback was that it doesn't have top-loading filters, which seems huge around these boards. It is a non-issue, and I...

    Dolphin Triton arrives tomorrow

Thanks so much! That's why we ended up with those two as our final options--very similar, a couple of feature differences, and the ability to add the remote, if we choose! - - - Updated - - - Not the plus, just the regular Triton. Top access would be nice, but I was not willing to pay much...

    Dolphin Triton arrives tomorrow

Picking out a robot cleaner gave me a huge headache. I'd think I had it figured out, and then I would read another review and overthink things. Finally, I narrowed it down to the Nautilus and the Triton and asked hubby to please just pick one! The Triton was a good midpoint between the Nautilus...

New Pool Build Pearland, TX (Houston area)

Looking good! I added a second hose from the side of the house when we filled ours, and that increased our fill rate by a lot!

Houston (Katy) Pool Build - Started April 2016

We went with a light gray grout. It reads white from a distance, but the slightly darker color makes it not so stark. Picking grout was one of the hardest things!

New Pool Build Pearland, TX (Houston area)

Nandina, clumping bamboo, and hostas do really well here. Mountain laurel is hit or miss in our area.

New Pool Build Pearland, TX (Houston area)

We just had our sprinkler system repaired, as well as the whole backyard re-done with 2 new zones. I used Aquatec, on the recommendation of several people. Originally, I was going to use my neighbor's sprinkler guy, but he was tough to get ahold of. Anyway, Aquatec was AWESOME, and the foreman...

    Help With Pool Remodel Choices

I would think a remodel would be the best move, but think about how to enhance what you have versus change it entirely. Looking at your pictures, I would add a rock waterfall, maybe at a corner of the pool to help disguise the rectangular shape a bit. Change the tile, pick a new plaster color...

Rocking along-- New Houston Area Build Ramping Up

They fixed everything the very next morning, and all is running like it should. This Saturday, we have pool school, and we will take over from there. I need to test the water this afternoon. The builder added a bunch of chemicals at start-up, but not chlorine. I'm not sure why, but they said...
