So I slammed my pool until the algae was dead and passed the Overnight chlorine loss test. I have only used Clorox in my pool and never had a problem, however, this opening year I can't for the life of me get the water crystal yet. I have vacuumed and brushed almost daily and left the pump...

Its just truly amazing how well the BBB works. I have since swapped 3 neighbors over to the BBB.....life is good!

Hey thanks much for the help...I will vacuum out the algae gently, backwash to waste and get that cya down a bit. The hit it with some crazy amounts of chlorine :-D

I normally get the 3 pk of 182oz bleach at Sams for $6.87. Which is $2.29 a gallon. So I spend about $70.00 a month on bleach. However, I just raised my CYA to 70 to keep from losing so much chlorine during the day. I am losing an average 3-4ppm a day when the cya was at 60. I did an OCLT...

Just found a local supplier of 12% liquid chlorine that has 15gal drums for $68.00. Been using clorox since I started the pool and using about a gal a day. Going to Sams every other week is kinda getting old. Would it be a good idea to switch to the liquid and use less?

Passed the OCLT no problem....So I added 8lbs of calicum increaser and still nothing.... When I do the test, the sample turns purple. I remember reading somewhere this means there is metal content in the pool....Do I add more calicum? The water is so clear, you can read the date on a dime on...

Pool still looks clear and sparkling. We did get a ton of rain over the weekend, but other than that it's all the same. I will run a OCLT tonight and see what I get.

I normally don't test the CH. I have tested it a few times in the past few weeks, but it always shows 0. So last night I didn't test for CH.

Noticed last night when I was testing the water in the water feels really slick on my arm. Almost feels like the water is too soft. Is this a concern? Last night's test results: FC-5 CC-0 pH-7.6 TA-70 CYA-60 I adding roughly 64oz of baking soda the night before to get my TA up a little...

The liner we put in about 3 years ago.....but due to the water it looks like it's 15. It's almost white...it's bleached so bad :oops:
