Need New Pump/Replace sand in filter??

Thanks for your thoughts, Newdude :) I was looking at the Hayward PowerFlo Matrix Dual speed 1.5 hp pump. Do you think that would work well for my pool size AND power bill?

Need New Pump/Replace sand in filter??

I need to replace my pump. Currently have a 1.0 hp single speed Hayward power flow matrix with a Hayward sand filter pro S-180T. Above ground pool size is 27’, approximately 17,205 gallons of water. Should I replace my pump with the same one or can I go up to a 1.5 hp pump? Also, should I...

    PVC and Unions

I want to replace the sand in my sand filter, however, the multiport valve is hard plumbed without the use of unions. Should I cut the PVC a few inches out and away from the multiport valve? Or am I overthinking this? Seems like that would be the most logical thing to do. Also, can I just buy...

Intex Strainer Assembly Too Small For Upsized Pump?

Last summer after only two weeks of use, the Intex 12" 2100gph sand filter pump that came with our pool died. I got a new motor under warranty, but opted to upgrade the sand filter pump to the Intex 16" 3000gph after reading posts on here that suggested the 12" was too small for this sized pool...

    Questions about ALGAE

We have had our pool (with SWG) up a little over a month and everything was working great. Until the motor on the pump stopped working 1 week ago. It was burned out completely. Purchased a new one, the bigger Intex SF60110, because of reading lots about how the SF80110 that came with the pool...

    Deck for Intex 12x24

We've installed our pool and are now discussing the deck we are going to put around it and looking for suggestions! Can we build the deck right up to the top edge of the pool? Or over it? Would love to be able to sit on deck and dangle feet in the water, but not sure if that's possible :)...

    Questions about set up

The only reason I've thought about using a tarp is to cover the styrene seams. I've read posts from several people that suggested the tarp over the styrene will keep you from feeling the seams of the styrene under your feet. We intend to use gorilla tape on the seams. Will that be enough...

    Questions about set up

So if we use 2" pavers, sand, styrene, then a tarp, is that overkill? I'm thinking we need the sand to help level the 2" pavers with top of the styrene? Thanks for the suggestions, they are much appreciated!!

    Questions about set up

We are preparing to set up our Intex Ultra Frame pool (24' x 12' x 52") on Friday and have a couple questions. The ground has been leveled, and we are in SC, so we have the lovely red clay for dirt :) Should we go with masonry sand, extruded polystyrene, or both? What about a gorilla pad? My...
